Age Spots & Freckle Removal & Photo Rejuvenation
Photo Rejuvenation is a broad category used to define a particular kind of Light Therapy. You might know this type of treatment as Photo facial, Fotofacial, or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or BBL Broad band Light. Essentially, all these therapies use the same Light principals to improve the appearance of photo-aged skin, remove
age spots (sun-induced freckles),
most benign brown pigments, and redness
caused by broken capillaries through a
process called Photo Rejuvenation for face and body.
Photo Rejuvenation Skin Therapy helps restore a more youthful appearance with virtually no patient downtime. It is a new technology (last 10 years) that gradually and naturally restores a smooth even surface to your face, hands and chest. Today’s active lifestyle doesn’t leave much time for recovery from a cosmetic procedure, which is why this therapy is one of the single best technologies for overall skin improvement.

How Advanced Light Systems Works
During treatment, the BBL wavelength is optimized so that the energy is absorbed only by the unwanted melanin, or hemoglobin (blood) if you’re treating rosecea, raising the temperature to cause shattering of the target. Deeper level blood vessels are treated at the same time.
Shortly after treatment, the unwanted pigment cells (or melanin) have been thoroughly fragmented without damage to the surrounding tissue. Vascular lesions are heated, causing coagulation and shrinking of the vessels.
In the weeks after treatment, the shattered melanin particles are metabolized by the body and eliminated. Little or no trace of the initial lesion remains. The treated vessels deeper within the epidermis are reabsorbed by the body in much the same way.
Because the treatment is gentle, there is no interruption of routine activities. By helping to remove the age spots (sun-induced freckles) and broken capillaries, the result is overall younger looking skin. Improvement is subtle and accomplished over a series of treatments so the patient's skin does not appear obviously treated.
BBL (Broad Band Light) photo rejuvenation therapy at STONEWATER MEDICAL AESTHETICS is a remarkable breakthrough in skin rejuvenation therapy for men and women. BBL photo rejuvenation therapy can help men and women achieve a younger, more refreshed look to their skin. It can help reduce the appearance of sun spots and roll back the years on those unsightly age spots. BBL photo rejuvenation therapy can also help reduce the visibility of a wide variety of skin conditions including rosecea, warts, broken capillaries and acne.
BBL photo rejuvenation therapy employs the technology of pulsed light that heats the outer layer of skin in the problem area. This gentle heating from the pulsed light penetrates the outer layer of the skin and stimulates the skin cells beneath the skin, promoting collagen production that naturally helps revitalize the skin's appearance.

Now's the time to take the first step and learn more about BBL photo rejuvenation therapy at STONEWATER MEDICAL AESTHETICS.
The Procedure
BBL photo rejuvenation therapy is a very safe procedure that has virtually no side effects and can be completed in about 15 to 30 minutes. BBL photo rejuvenation can be performed on any area of the body, and is most commonly performed on the areas that are the most frequently exposed to the damaging rays of the sun, including hands, face, neck, shoulders and chest.
Before your procedure begins, you will be asked to put on protective eyewear. During your BBL photo rejuvenation therapy, you may feel your skin getting gently warm in the area of the procedure. You may also feel a light snapping sensation when the procedure is being performed. After the procedure, you may have some slight redness around the area that was treated and this will fade in just an hour or two.
To achieve optimum results, between two and five BBL photo rejuvenation therapy treatments will be scheduled for you at STONEWATER MEDICAL AESTHETICS. Discuss this with your plastic surgeon at STONEWATER MEDICAL AESTHETICS.
